IEPs and SSTs: Supplanting Rules

IEP meetings (and translations for those meetings) are federally-mandated and are considered to be required services. As such, we are not allowed to use Title I funding or EIA funding to provide substitutes to release teachers to attend these meetings, pay for translations, or perform any other services related to IEPs. Using these supplemental funds would violate the supplanting rules and jeopardize continued funding.

Allowable funding sources to support IEPs would include site discretionary dollars and flexible state funds (Tier III resources) such as SLIBG and TIIG.

Please contact Devin if you have any questions. Thanks.
